Phil Quarles

Meet Phil!

(Left to Right) Daughter Gracey, Phil, daughter Ashlea, son-in-law Aaron, & son CJ.

Phil Quarles started working for Hardee’s Corporate back in 2009.  Before that, he worked for Cracker Barrel and even owned his own restaurant.  In 2011, Phil helped open the Villa Rica, GA store for Hardee’s.  Shortly after that location opened, he decided to make a move back to Cracker Barrel.

Not long after, his friend, Chad Williams, who is another district manager for our company, contacted him about helping with a new store.  Phil yet again made the switch back to Hardee’s about 2 months before the Lund Brown Group acquired his region.  He opened the Rome 3 and Jasper stores in Georgia.   After showing his talents in this industry, Bobby promoted him to District Manager in July 2015, a position he stills holds today.

At home, Phil is a single dad living in Cartersville, GA, which is about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta.  His oldest daughter, Ashlea, is 25 and married.  He is at home with Gracey, who is 12 and in 6th grade, and CJ, who is 8 and in 3rd grade.  Phil’s kids definitely keep him busy between Gracey’s gymnastics and CJ’s football! He likes to spend every spare minute with his kids whether they are cheering on the Falcons or the local Purple Hurricanes, going to Six Flags, or spending time at their church together.

Aside from working a lot and cheering on his kids, Phil still somehow finds time to give back to his community.  He is involved in a number of different organizations and he told me he doesn’t do any of this for the credit, but because it makes him feel good; especially in today’s society when so many people are at each other’s throats.  He also said he is not often able to donate money, but is certainly happy to donate his time to whoever needs help when he has the chance.

Phil mentioned to me that in his “past life”, he promoted pro wrestling!  Well, that sure has come in handy for his fund raising plans!  This April, he is organizing an event in Rome, GA at a skating rink to raise money for a local family whose young daughter has been diagnosed with a very intense form of Diabetes.  Wrestler Scott Steiner will be making an appearance and Phil hopes for this event to be huge and successful. He is also looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of another wrestling event and break out his alter-ego!

Through their church, Phil’s kids are involved with the Lottie Moon foundation and with the organization closest to Phil’s heart- the Kyra Karr Foundation.  Kyra was a member of Phil’s church who was killed in an automobile accident.  You can read more about her story and foundation here:

Phil also likes working with Toys for Tots and with the Rome & Floyd County Exchange Club.  This club works to prevent child abuse and holds events called Blue Mondays.  Local businesses dress up in their craziest blue outfits and the winner gets a free breakfast donated by Hardee’s.  The last team to win even donated their free breakfast to a local homeless shelter.

As you can see, Phil is so involved and determined to help those in need in his community.  Thank you for sharing your time with others and your story with us. You are an inspiration to those who want to find their own ways to give back.
